Institute of Experimental Nuclear Medicine (Central Laboratory of Isotope) was founded in 1985. It belongs to Medical School, Shanong University(SDU) now. It was one of the key Labs in Shandong Medical University in 1991, 1995, 1998. Institute of Experimental Nuclear Medicine belongs to the Clinical Medicine---Imaging and Nuclear medicine. It is the only Lab for radioisotope-related study in SDU.

There are 4 teachers in our institute now, including 1 professor, 1 associated professor, 1 High-ranking technician, 1 assistant professors.3 with master's degree,1 with doctor's degree,1 pursuing doctor's degree.

Experiment nuclear medicine teaching, research and clinical services are carrying on in this Lab. Authorized by the SDU,we have built our teaching labs ---Specialty labtory of Experimental Nuclear Medicine ShangDong university . We have established 2 special labs for teaching after renewing the enviorment ,so to promot our teaching greatly.

Many books have been published by our distinguished professors, such as Nuclear Medicine (No. 1-4 versions), Experimental Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Pharmacy, Labeling an Tracing Techniques in Biomedical Sciences. For scientific Study, our institute focuses on molecular mechanism of Transplantation Immunology, Radioligand Binding Assay of Receptors (RBA) and its application in medical research, effects of Chinese herbs on hormone receptor and neurotransmitter receptors, and metabolism pathway, 8 projects from Ministry of Public Health , Scientific Committee of Shandong province, Province Hygiene Bureau and Province Nature and Science Funds are carried . We held courses of Experimental Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Pharmacy for graduates, Labeling Immunology for undergraduates every year. This institute cultivated with graduates for master's degree in Experimeatal Nuclear Medicine, nearly 20 students have graduated since 1990.

The main techniques in this lab are radioimmunoassay, counting of gamma and beta ray of radioisotope, radioisotope tracing, protein radio-labeling, autoradiography and so on. Our institute owns different rooms for isotope counting, labeling, autoradiography, cell culture and molecular biology and stuents-teaching . We have advanced equipments and machines such as Gamma Counters, Liquid Scintillation Counters, PCR Machine, Maximus Volume hypothermia Centrifuger, CO2 Incubator, Multi-cell Collecting Device, etc. It is one of the first -class radioisotope laboratories in China.

About clinical service, we have been testing Gonadal Hormone (FSH、LH、PRL、E2、T、P), Serum Renin, angiotensin, aldosterone ,Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG-β) and Tumor Markers with radioimmunoassay and AsAb，AEmAb，AhCGAb，AoAb，AzpAb with ELISA for nearly 20 years.Also we could supply service for tracing quantities substances measurement with radioimmunoassay and gamma ,beta counting of samples.
